8 Nights of Hanukkah Gift Ideas for Adults: One Small Gift a Night
Eight nights means eight chances to give something, and that can be hard to plan for an adult. A good approach is to keep most nights small and save one bigger gift for a night when everyone is together.
Here's one way to do it using the Hanukkah mugs and tees in our shop. Mugs are $10.99 each (11 oz ceramic, no sizes to guess). Tees start at $20.49 and are Comfort Colors 1717, a heavy garment-dyed cotton tee with a relaxed fit. Swap the order around however you like.
Night 1 (Friday, December 4): start simple
A blue and gold Star of David pattern with "Happy Hanukkah" lettering. It's a classic, low-key gift to start the week.
Night 2: the cat joke
A white cat wearing a medal next to a dreidel, under the words "Dreidel Champion." It's for whoever wins every game, or thinks they do.
Night 3: for the cook
An orange cat sitting on top of a tall stack of latkes like it's in charge. Give it to whoever does the frying.
Night 4: the bigger gift
A black cat pouncing on a spinning dreidel: "It Spins, I Pounce." Midweek is a good time for the one gift that needs a size.
Night 5: for the snacker
A bear in striped pajamas holding up two jelly donuts, with "Eight Nights Of Snacks." It's a cozy pick for a night in.
Night 6: classic blue and gold
A clean Star of David with HANUKKAH in spaced lettering. It's the most understated shirt here and an easy choice for someone who likes simple designs.
Night 7: the matching piece
A blue and gold menorah with "Happy Hanukkah" lettering. It's a good gift for a host, a teacher or a grandparent.
Night 8 (Friday, December 11): end on a laugh
The same pajama bear and jelly donuts, on a tee. It pairs with the Night 5 mug if you want the week to end with a matching set.
Tips for planning eight nights
- Keep a list: write down who gets what on which night before you order, so nothing doubles up.
- Mix sizes and no-sizes: mugs are the easy nights. Save the tees for people whose size you know.
- Cute or classic: the cats and the bear are the funny picks. The star and the menorah are the safer picks for a grandparent or someone you don't know well.
- Order once: ordering everything together makes it easier to track. Each item is printed separately, so it may arrive in more than one package.
When to order
In 2026, Hanukkah begins at sundown on Friday, December 4, and the eighth night is Friday, December 11. Every item is printed after you order it. That takes 2–7 business days, plus carrier shipping time. Ordering by about November 16 is a safe target for the first night. The later nights give you a little extra time. These are suggestions, not guarantees.

Order-by suggestions (not guarantees): for Thanksgiving (Thu, Nov 26, 2026), order by about Nov 9 to be safe. For the first night of Hanukkah (Fri, Dec 4, 2026), order by about Nov 16. For Christmas (Fri, Dec 25), order by about Dec 7. Carriers get slower in December, so earlier is better.
